Since 2013, “Møbel+Interiør Brancheforeningen” and “Træets Arbejdsgivere” have been the main financial contributors for Danish Standards Association’s committee for furniture and inventory, S-256.
After the two associations merged into Træ- og Møbelindustrien (TMI) (The Wood and Furniture Industry) it has been agreed that Furn-tech – with the support of TMI – has to handle the interests of the industry and other stakeholders in the committee.
This happens through the establishment of a group that has to keep an eye on the work in CEN TC 207, Møbler (furniture) and ISO TC 136, Møbler. The group is also working towards maximum danish influence with the work of Danish Standards Association’s committee for furniture and inventory, S-256.
The president for this group is the furniture industry’s year-long representative and current president for S-256, Kjeld Bülow, who is continuing working in CEN TC 207 and ISO TC 136 in the same way as before.
To join the group it is required to be a member of Furn-tech – the alternative is a service subscription with Furn-tech.
On behalf of the furniture industry and with effect from January 1st 2014, Furn-tech has become a member of Danish Standards Association, represented by more than 10 people.
